DALE WESTCOTT MEMORIAL NATURE PHOTO AWARD
FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The 2011 Dale Westcott Memorial Nature Photo Award will be given to the student photographer who submits the best nature photograph, as judged by the Photography Club of Beaufort.
Eligibility:
Any area student currently enrolled in a Beaufort County high school or home schooled.
Entry Specifications:
- Each student may only submit one photograph
- Photo may be black & white or color
- Photo submitted must be 8”x10” or larger and mounted on 11x14 board.
- The photo may not be framed.
- Information to be included on the back of the board:
Title of Photo
Name of Student
Phone number or email
School (if applicable) and Grade
Deadline:
Photo must be in the club’s possession by Friday, December 3, 2010 . Arrangement can be made with Sandy Dimke (846-9580 / dimke@hargray.com) to deliver photos before this time.
Judges:
Judging will be done by members of the Photography Club of Beaufort, or guest judges for the occasion.
Notification:
The students whose photograph receives First/Second/Third Place or Honorable Mention will be notified by December 15.
Award:
The prize money checks and certificate will be awarded at the January 10, 2011 club meeting at 7pm. If the student or representative is unable to attend, the check and certificate will be mailed to him/her.
Photos remain the sole property of the photographer. We reserve the right to publish the photo in a publicity release to local papers and on our club web site. We reserve the right to display the submitted photos in a public area* of Beaufort County for up to one month. (*to be determined)
