CENTER FOR BIRDS OF PREY - Awandaw, South Carolina
September 27, 2008
About 25 members of the Photography Club of Beaufort participated in the field trip to the Center for Birds of Prey. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday and Susan Bogart, the coordinator, gave the club almost total access to the birds that she brought out into the field. This was a private session and club members were the only visitors at the center.

The outing was a total success. The staff was very knowledgeable and gave us information on the various species as the birds were brought out to us to photograph. Some were perched, and some, more trained birds, were even allowed to fly.

The following is a sampling of some of the species we photographed: American and Eurasian Kestrels, Barred and Spectacled Owls, Hybrid Eagle Owls, Black Vultures, Harris and Red Tailed Hawk and the Saker Falcon. Other birds were in caged areas that we were also allowed to photograph.
